The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026  admit cards for candidates scheduled to appear for the exam Candidates appearing for Paper 1 (B.Tech/B.E.) can download their admit cards from the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in, so that they can get details about their examination.

Students are also informed to frequently check the website for updates on exam dates, instructions regarding exam and other details of the exam center.

JEE Main Admit Card Release Dates

  • March 29, 2026 – Admit cards released for April 02, 03, and 04 exams.
  • April 02, 2026 – Admit cards released for April 07, 08, and 09 exams.

Exam Schedule & Timings

Paper 1 (B.Tech/B.E) – Two Shifts Daily:
  • Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Shift 2: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

     

Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) – One Shift:

Things to Carry to the JEE Main Exam Center

Candidates taking the JEE Main 2026 examination must bring the below mentioned items along with their admit card :

  • Self-Declaration Form: This is a part of the admit card PDF. Take a printed copy and fill it out before you enter the Exam Centre.
  • Personal Hand Sanitiser: You must bring a 50 ml personal hand sanitiser to promote personal hygiene.
  • Own Ballpoint Pen: You must one blue or black ballpoint pen as sharing on any form will not be allowed.
  • Passport sized Photograph: You must also bring one photo that is the same as the one you uploaded while applying. It will be stuck on the attendance sheet in the exam centre.
  • Clear Water Bottle: You must bring a clear water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Face Mask and Gloves: You must wear both of these whilst you are on the exam premises.

Important things to note for B.Arch Aspirants:

For those sitting the Architecture Paper, you should also bring your geometry tools, color pencils, erasers, and regular pencils. Watercolors are not supposed to be a priority in relation to the exam and will also not be allowed in the examination centre.

Valid Photo ID Proofs (Original and Not Expired)

In addition to the admit card, if you have access to any one of the following government issued photo Ids, and take them along to the exam centre : 

  • PAN Card
  • Driving License
  • Voter ID

  • Aadhaar Card with photo
  • Aadhaar Enrollment Slip or Ration Card

Special Guidelines for Diabetic Candidates

The exam authority allows diabetic candidates to take the following food and drink items to the examination due to medical reasons:

  • Fresh fruits (like bananas, apples)
  • Glucose or sugar tablets
  • Transparent water bottle

Note: Packaged and processed food and drink items, such as chips, chocolates, biscuits, or sandwiches, are not allowed.

Items Strictly Prohibited in the Exam Center

To ensure fairness and security, candidates are not allowed to take the following items:

  • Any electronic gadgets (for example, mobile phones, smartwatches, bluetooth devices, etc.)
  • Notes, books or other loose papers
  • Pencil boxes, rulers, kit geometry (except in B.Arch paper)
  • Bags, wallets or purses
  • Any food items or beverages/drinks
  • Any metallic items, jewelry or ornaments
  • Cameras, audio/video recording devices.

Please ensure that you only bring the prescribed items into the exam, to avoid disqualification or being unable to enter the examination.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Instructions

To ensure candidates don’t have a stressful experience on exam day, there are a few important instructions that each candidate taking JEE Main 2026 will need to follow. These instructions will be printed on the admit card:

  • Arrive at the venue ahead of the scheduled start time to avoid delays or any last-minute confusion. 
  • Bring the JEE Main 2026 admit card and a valid photo ID. 
  • Only do calculations on the rough sheets provided at the exam center.
  • Diabetic students may bring fruits or glucose tablets; however, packed snacks are not allowed. 
  • Sit only at your allocated seat and do not change seats. 
  • Do not bring any banned items on the list such as mobile phones, smartwatches, or calculator. 
  • Entry into the examination will not be permitted after the exam has started. Early exit will not be permitted either. 
  • Candidates registered with PwD status must bring their certificate for proof.

Dress Code Instructions for JEE Main 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has noted down a dress code list for all the candidates as mentioned in the admit card. Candidates are advised to avoid wearing the following on the exam day:

  • Don’t wear clothes made of any kind of metallic; this includes embroidery on clothes, buttons, zippers, and badges
  • Do not wear caps, mufflers, or head coverings (if the head covering is not religious)
  • Do not wear jewelry and ornaments (earrings, chains, and nose pins) 
  • Do not wear accessories (sunglasses, rings, bracelets, or watches ).

JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip

Before releasing the official admit card, the NTA provides a city intimation slip to inform candidates of the city that their exam centre is located. The institution where the exam is located and the address will be found on the official admit card only. 

Steps to Download City Intimation Slip:
  1. Go to the JEE Main official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in
  2. Click on the link called “City Intimation Slip”
  3. Log in using the application number and password.
  4. Once you have logged in, the city will appear
  5. Download and print the slip for their had.

Forgot Your JEE Main Admit Card Password?

If you’ve forgotten the password you need to download the admit card, here’s how to reset it:

  1. Visit the JEE Main 2026 website
  2. Click on the Admit Card download option
  3. Select “Forgot Password” 
  4. Answer the security question you set up during the registration process
  5. A verification code will be sent to your registered mobile number
  6. You will receive a password reset link to your registered email
  7. Click the link and create a new password
