NEET 2026 Exam Pattern: Overview

The NEET UG exam pattern is expected to resemble NEET 2025 pattern. In 2025, NTA removed the optional questions from Section B. All the questions will be compulsory henceforward. The same pattern is expected for NEET 2026 unless NTA issues any notification mentioned otherwise.

NEET 2026 will be a duration of 3 hours (180 minutes). Students will need to do their best in time management as there will be no allowances for extra time and optional questions and each question will have to be attempted mindfully to avoid negative marking.

  • Do not guess if you are not confident – mark if you are sure only
  • Read every question and option carefully
  • One option only – don’t select two
  • Manage your time such that you have time to review and double-check your answers

NEET 2026 Exam Difficulty Level (Based on 2025)

    • Biology: It was moderate to easy in difficulty; a subject which was easy to score
    • Chemistry: It was moderate in difficulty; require a clear understanding of concepts
    • Physics: It was a relatively tougher section; high weightage of numerical problems
