JEE Main Notification 2027
The JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination (Main)), administered by National Testing Agency (NTA), provides admission to prestigious institutions such as NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, and offers students up to two chances for success and decreases pressure with additional opportunities to improve their best score while still testing for admission to IITs by qualifying them for JEE Advanced.
Exam Overview & Purpose
The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is India’s premier undergraduate engineering entrance exam. Given by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it is considered heavily for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs while serves as the qualifying exam to get into JEE Advanced (IIT admission).

Eligibility Criteria
The NTA’s eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2027 is likely to mirror years past:
- Qualification or appearing in Class 12 (10+2) in 2027/ from a recognized board.
- Must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Candidates with a Diploma or NIOS can also be accepted; Candidates with NIOS must select their State for eligibility in the application.
- No age limit.
- Candidates can only attempt JEE Main in 3 consecutive years with 2 sessions a each year (maximum of 6 attempts).
Application & Registration Process
How to Apply:
- Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Once there, register to create login credentials.
- Fill out the form and provide choice of Appendix A personal information, A academic Qualifications and A exam centre.
- Upload specified scanned documents (photo, signature, and the category certificate if applicable).
- Pay the application fee and submit.
Important Notes:
- Forms for both sessions will be released separately: Session 1 will be available in November 2025 and Session 2 will be available in February 2027.7Be sure to double-check all entries. After you submit your application there is usually a correction window for a short period in which you can make limited changes.
Exam Pattern — What to Expect
In 2027, the NTA has clarified that for each section, Section B will contain 5 compulsory numerical questions – no options, no skipping.

Answer Key & Result Process
- Periodically answer keys and respective candidates answers will be issued approximately 2-3 days following the exam to allow candidates, if required, to object (₹200 per question)
- After objections are addressed, the final answer key will be issued.
- Typically results are announced in one week following the exam date assuming session 1 is held in February and session 2 in April.
- Where a candidate sits exam for both sessions typically the All India Rank will be determined by the higher score.
