JEE Advanced 2024: The application form for JEE Advanced 2024 will be released by IIT Guwahati on April 30, 2024, and will be available for submission until May 4, 2024. Aspiring candidates who have successfully cleared JEE Main 2024 and seek admission to IITs must complete the application process for JEE Advanced 2024. This opportunity is extended to the top 2,50,000 JEE Main 2024 performers. The JEE Advanced 2024 exam is scheduled for June 4, 2024, with Paper 1 from 9 am to 12 pm and Paper 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

For admission into IITs through JEE Advanced 2024, candidates must adhere to specific eligibility criteria. Failure to meet these requirements will result in disqualification. Key points include:

Criterion 1 – Qualifying Marks in JEE Main 2024:
  • Candidates must have cleared JEE Main 2024 (Paper 1) and be among the top 2,50,000 candidates.
  • Category-wise division:
    • OPEN – 40.5%
    • GEN-EWS – 10%
    • OBC-NCL – 27%
    • SC – 15%
    • ST – 7.5%
    • PwD – 5% (horizontal reservation)
Criterion 2 – No. of Attempts Allowed:
  • Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of 2 times in 2 consecutive years.
  • Candidates who applied for JEE Advanced 2024 but did not appear will also have the option to appear for JEE Advanced 2024.
Criterion 3 – Age Limit:
  • Candidates born on or after October 1, 1998, are eligible.
  • A 5-year age relaxation is applicable for PwD, ST, or SC candidates (born on or after October 1, 1993).
  • Note: Age may no longer be a determining factor soon (not official).
Criterion 4 – Previous Admissions at IITs:
  • Candidates previously admitted to an IIT or ISM are ineligible.
  • Candidates selected or admitted to an IIT but rejected or expelled subsequently cannot appear for JEE Advanced 2024.
  • First-time enrollees in a preparation programme at any IIT in 2024 are eligible.
  • Candidates given a seat in an IIT via JoSAA 2024 but were unable to report, cancelled, or withdrew before the last seat allocation round are eligible, subject to meeting Criteria 1 through 5.
Criterion 5 – Having Appeared in the Examination for Class 12 or Equivalent:
  • Candidates must have cleared the 10+2 examination in 2024 or 2024 for the first time.
  • If 2020–21 results were released on or after October 15, 2021, applicants from the board that conducted the exam for the 12th grade in 2021 will also be considered.
  • Candidates are not allowed to attempt JEE Advanced 2024 if the 2019-20 results were released before October 15, 2020, but the result of a specific candidate was withheld.
  • Special measure: Candidates who registered for JEE Advanced 2024 and took the class 12th (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2021 or 2024 but did not appear in BOTH papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) are eligible for direct application to JEE Advanced 2024.
