Role of National Testing Agency (NTA)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the JEE Main exam. Established in 2018, NTA is responsible for conducting various national-level entrance exams, including NEET, CMAT, UGC-NET, GPAT, and more. How to Register for the JEE Main 2024 Examination?

To register for the JEE Main 2024 examination, students need to follow a few simple steps:
Visit the Official Website: Go to the official NTA JEE website at
https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ to start the registration process.
Fill in Personal and Educational Details: During registration, provide personal and educational details as required. Make sure to accurately fill in all the information.
Upload Necessary Documents: Upload necessary documents for verification purposes. These may include identification documents, photographs, and signatures.
Pay the Registration Fee: Complete the registration process by paying the registration fee. The fee amount varies based on the candidate’s category and gender:
● Rs. 1000 for Male candidates of Unreserved/Gen-EWS/OBC category
● Rs. 800 for Female candidates of Unreserved/Gen-EWS/OBC category
● Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category candidates
Keep Track of the Last Date: It’s essential to remember the last date for registration and complete the process on time.
JEE Main 2024 Admit Card After successful registration, candidates can download their JEE Main 2024 admit
card:
● Release of Admit Cards: Admit cards are usually released a few days before
the exam.
● Downloading Process: Log in to the official website using the provided credentials and download the admit card.
● Necessary Requirement: Candidates must have the admit card to appear for the examination. Make sure to take a printout of the admit card.  

Declaration of JEE Main 2024 Results
Once the examination is conducted, NTA releases the JEE Main 2024 results:
Release Date: Results are typically released a few days after the examination
has been conducted successfully for all shifts.
Checking Results: Candidates can check their results on any of the three
official websites: www.jeemain.nta.nic.in, www.nta.ac.in, or
www.ntaresults.nic.in.
Downloading Process: Enter the application number and date of birth as the password, then click on the “Submit” button to view the JEE Main scorecard. Finally, download the result and take a printout for future reference. To be eligible for the JEE Main 2024 exam, candidates must meet the following criteria set by the National Testing Agency (NTA):
 No Age Limit: There is no age restriction for candidates applying for the exam.
● Class 12th Appearance: Candidates must have appeared or must be currently appearing for the Class 12 examinations.
● Subject Requirement: Candidates must have studied subjects including Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/Biology during Class 12th.
● Minimum Percentage: The minimum required percentage in Class 12 varies based on the candidate’s category and the course they are applying for (B.Tech/B.Arch). It is important for aspirants to regularly visit the official NTA JEE website to stay updated on exam-related announcements, including dates, pattern changes, or syllabus modifications.

What’s New in the JEE Exam 2024?
The JEE Main exam undergoes various changes each year, introduced by the NTA.
Here are some of the latest changes for JEE Main 2024:
● Two Separate Sessions: JEE Main 2024 will be conducted in two separate sessions, with the first session scheduled between 24th January and 1st February 2024, and the second session between 1st April and 15th April 2024.
● Choice of Exam Centres: Candidates can choose any four cities for examination centres, limited to the state of their permanent/present address.
● Application Form Correction: The correction facility for the JEE Main 2024 application form has ended, emphasising the importance of ensuring correct details before submission.
● No Age Limit: The latest change in eligibility criteria eliminates the age limit for JEE Main 2024 applicants.
JEE Main 2024 Counselling and Participating Institutes After the JEE Main 2024 results are announced, counselling for admissions will be conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). The counselling process includes two mock rounds followed by six general rounds for seat allocation. Participating institutes for counselling include 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 33 CFTIs. Once candidates are allotted colleges based on their ranks, they can proceed to complete the admission process by submitting fees and required documents to their respective colleges.

● Both sessions of JEE Main 2023 have concluded, with candidates reporting moderate difficulty in the question paper.
