The JEE Advanced Notification 2026 will be the official notification for one of India’s most competitive engineering entrance examinations. JEE Advanced 2026 Official Notification – Release Date

The official notification for JEE Advanced 2026 will be published by the organizing IIT that will be responsible for the conducting JEE Advanced, much like the other notifications of years prior. This is expected to happen in the last week of March 2026. The official website for that year will also be shared in the JEE Advanced Notification – be sure to check it, as you will be able to download the information brochure and register from the portal once you navigate to that portal as per the instructions given.

What is JEE Advanced?

JEE Advanced is the last step for candidates who wish to get B.Tech/B.Arch/B.S/.Integrated M.Tech admission in IITs. It is an examination every year, which is conducted by one of seven zonal IITs on behalf of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main 2026 exam will be able to take JEE Advanced 2026 exam.

JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to meet the conditions established by JAB prior to entering application forms. Here are some metrics based on the prior years:

1. Performance in JEE Main 2026
  • Candidates need to be one of the 2.5 lakhs qualified candidates (from all categories).
2. Age Limit
  • Candidates need to have been born on or after October 1, 2001.
  • The SC, ST and PwD categories will get a 5 years relaxation (born on or after October 1, 1996).
3. Number of Attempts
  • A maximum of two attempts, taken in succession.
4. Class 12 Qualification
  • Those qualify for JEE Advanced 2026 must have passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026 to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
5. No Prior Admission in IIT
  • Those candidates would not be eligible when they have an admission to IIT valid under any mode, even if they cancelled it ultimately.

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Pattern

The exam will consist of two papers, both of which are mandatory.

  • Online Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • The format varies slightly each year however the marking scheme will be exact on the exam day

JEE Advanced 2026 Syllabus (Latest)

The syllabus was updated for JEE Advanced in 2023 and is still the same. It is based on NCERT books covering: 

  • Physics: Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, Modern Physics and so on
  • Chemistry: Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry
  • Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry and so on

JEE Advanced 2026 Application Form

The application is made on-line through the official website. The JEE Advanced Notification 2026 will provide full instruction on:

  • Application registration
  • Document uploading
  • Application fee payment

  • Class 10 & 12 marks sheets
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD Certificate (if applicable)

JEE Advanced 2026 Result and Cut-off

Results are expected to be released in June 2026. The scorecard will have:

  • Candidate’s Score (Paper 1 + Paper 2)
  • All India Rank (AIR)
  • Category-wise Rank
  • Subject-wise Marks

     

The qualifying cut-off (to be included in the rank list), and the admission cut-off (for for each IIT branch) will be shared separately. 

IIT Seat Allocation via JoSAA 2026

Once results are out, candidates can participate in JoSAA counselling for admission into:

  • IITs
  • NITs
  • IIITs
  • GFTIs

Seat allocation will be based on AIR, category, seat availability, and preferences.
