Most students take chapter tests wrong. They finish a chapter, wait a week, then attempt the test. By then, memory has faded, and the test measures forgetting, not understanding.
Here is the correct sequence.
Day 1 to 5: Study the chapter; complete NCERT. Solve coaching material problems. Build conceptual clarity.
Day 6: Take the Level 1 and Level 2 Chapter Test. Set a timer. Exam conditions. No reference material. Attempt every question.
Day 7: Analyse and Fix: Review every wrong answer. Identify if it is a conceptual gap, a silly mistake, or a formula error. Go back to the chapter for the specific concept that failed.
Day 8: Take the Level 3 Chapter Test JEE Advanced difficulty. New problems. No formula sheet. This test reveals whether you truly understand the chapter or whether you memorised solutions.
Day 9: Error Notebook Entry. Write every mistake from both tests in a dedicated notebook with the correct approach explained in your own words. This notebook is reviewed before every subsequent test and before the final exam.
If you score below 65% on Level 2, do not move forward. Revise the chapter. Retest. Move to the next chapter only when Level 2 accuracy exceeds 65%.
